RCDS Report Presentation: Comparing Russian Information Influence in Moldova and Armenia

On May 21, the Regional Center for Democracy and Security hosted a public discussion in Yerevan focused on the findings of the report “Comparing Russian Information Influence in Moldova and Armenia: Patterns, Challenges, and Specificities.” The discussion featured Lili Dubois-Harounyan, Research Assistant at the RCDS and author of the report, and was moderated by Tigran Grigoryan, Director of the RCDS.

The event examined how Russian information manipulation and interference campaigns adapt their narratives and digital operations to the political and geopolitical contexts of Armenia and Moldova. Particular attention was given to the circulation of similar disinformation narratives in both countries, the specific vulnerabilities of the Armenian information environment in the context of regional insecurity and territorial loss, as well as the importance of better understanding Moldova’s experience in building resilience to foreign information manipulation.

We would also like to warmly thank all those who participated in the discussion, including representatives of the diplomatic community, think tanks, civil society organisations, and state institutions, whose perspectives greatly contributed to the richness of the exchange.
